On February 13, 2024,
ChildFund officials visited CKSK for the sustainability plan, as the
ChildFund is phasing out and the agreement will be ending on
February 29, 2024. Fr. Rohan Lobo welcomed the ChildFund officials:
Mr. Amar, Senior Manager Program and Partnership; Ms. Chithra, SMT
and Finance Director; Ms. Vinaya Manvi, Sponsor Relations Technical
Officer; Mr. Manjunath, Livelihood Specialist; and Ms. Shiny Jacob,
Specialist Program. Later, during the formal session, Fr. Rohan Lobo
introduced all the officials to the gathering. PPT was resented by
Fr. Rohan Lobo for the CKSK's 25-year journey with ChildFund.
Later, Fr. Rohan Lobo facilitated the stakeholder meeting and
introduced all the department-wise stakeholders to the ChildFund
officials. The representatives from Ms. Ammi Joseph, health
department; Mr. Subhash Jadav; Mr. Ronald D'Mello; Mr.
Hanumantharaya; teachers from the education department; Ms.
Rathnavathi, CDPO office; Mr. Namdev from the Young Challengers
Youth Club; and Mr. Denni Vegas were present and shared their
experiences, suggestions, and expectations for the future. After the
tea break, the meeting was continued, and the president of Indabettu
Panchayath, former staff of the organization, ASHA workers, and
teachers shared their experiences and expectations with the office
bearers. Later, the officials discussed how to sustain the project
for the coming years and how the government department and different
stakeholders may continue the same program for the betterment of the
community.
After the lunch break, two separate sessions were held. Mr.
Manjunath facilitated the session with the SHG members who were the
beneficiaries of the LEEP fund and interacted about their current
ventures and how the ChildFund the Organization through a self-help
group had supported them and their families, what their sources of
income were, and how it contributed to their lives. Later, the
discussion was held on the different opportunities where the SHG
members’s together can do their group ventures and how to improve
their income and strengthen their group and their community. They
were asked to plan their ideas to support their community and
sustain themselves. The second session was facilitated by Ms. Shiny
Jacob, Ms. Chithra, and Ms. Vinaya Manvi, and they interacted with
the enrolled children and alumni children, and the children were
asked to share their experience with the ChildFund project and how
it helped them achieve their goals. Children were asked to make
sustainable plans and how they would help other needy children in
society. Children were asked to write their plans, opportunities,
challenges, etc. on the charts.
Later, after the tea break, the officials interacted with the
enrolled children, enrolled parents, and those who were in need and
requested ChildFund's support for their education and livelihood.
The children who are in need and the children who applied for
educational and livelihood support in the month of November
participated in the meeting. Mr. Manjunath and Fr. Rohan Lobo
facilitated the session and discussed the sustainability plan to
continue their education.
All the ChildFund officials discussed the whole day’s session and
appreciated the project management, PO, and staff for their efforts
and good support throughout the session. Ms. Merin extended her vote
of thanks and concluded the session.
