On the occasion of
the World Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd 2025, the
Daya Special School a unit of Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra (R),
celebrated World Disability Day at Daya Special School on 4th
December 2025. Mrs. Lavina Jyoti Fernandes, Program Coordinator of
CKSK, Mrs. Merin M.P, Counsellor of Daya Special School, Student
representatives Kumari Ganya, Master. Afraz and school teacher’s
representative Mrs. Dhanya T.V were present on the dais.
The program was inaugurated by Mrs. Lavina Jyoti Fernandes by
handing over and unveiling placards with various positive slogans to
the children. The speech therapist, Mrs. Raksha Aruna Poojary,
extended her greetings on the occasion of the International Day of
Persons with Disabilities, explaining the significance of this day
and the purpose of celebrating it across the world. Then Mrs. Merin
spoke and highlighted the various activities and programs that Daya
Special School has organized to brighten the lives of special needs
children and their parents. She explained the hard work of the
director and staff of the institution and thanked all the teaching
and non-teaching staff for their selfless work towards the
differently able children.
The different sports competitions were held at the school on the
occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and
on the occasion of World disability day on December 03rd at Town
hall, Mangalore the winners received the awards. The awards, which
were presented at the Mangalore, were presented to the children at
Daya School by the guest, Mrs. Lavina Jyoti, and the winners were
congratulated. The program was concluded with the cultural program
of the children, followed by distribution of sweets. 100 differently
able children and staff of the school were participated in the
program.
Special Educator Ms. Jayamani welcomed everyone to the program,
school physical educator Ms. Jenvira thanked the gathering, and
teacher Mrs. Suraksha hosted the program.
